"The Hard Truth About Redbubble and What You Should Know: Understanding Its Advantages and Disadvantages for Selling on This Platform"

If you are new to Redbubble, that's okay. It's a marketplace where you can sign up, choose a username, and create your store without needing any products or inventory. All you need is your own design. You can select a product from their website to put your design on, such as t-shirts, caps, wall art, stickers, and many more. Redbubble provides the products and takes a percentage of each sale, which is how they profit and you make money.

Disadvantages of Redbubble:

It is probably one of the most famous print-on-demand marketplaces, which means there is a lot of competition. To stand out, you need good SEO for your store on Redbubble or a good following on social media. If you're not making any sales, that's a problem.

When I first started out, I wasn't thinking about copyrighted designs. I just loved the idea of putting a design on a t-shirt, so I sketched and illustrated the mask from the movie Scream. It was only later that I realized it was a copyright design. The problem was that Redbubble didn't care if it was copyrighted and didn't take it down, so I did before I was penalized for it later.

Print Quality:

Selling on a print-on-demand website is more of a side hustle for me, so I haven't personally ordered products from Redbubble. However, I follow people on YouTube who have ordered products from Redbubble, and my favorite YouTuber is Shimmy Morris. Here is a video by Shimmy explaining Redbubble quality.

What products to sell:

I would recommend stickers, especially if you're just starting out. Stickers also require the smallest dimensions in size compared to other products, which is good if you're drawing on your phone or tablet.

Why I use Redbubble:

To be honest, I find Redbubble really easy to use compared to most websites. It's easy to set up and upload, mobile-friendly, and you can set it up to get paid into your PayPal account. When uploading to Redbubble, it's really fast. I tried using Society6 and Teespring, but you need a really good internet connection to upload on their platforms. Since I was unable to upload a design there, that's my experience.

Using Redbubble to make money:

I've created a lot of designs thinking they would sell, but they didn't. If you want to make money, there is always some investment you have to make, whether it's learning a new skill, your time, or money. So, you need to take a little time to research what sells. On the Redbubble search bar, type a word, and a list of suggestions will show. Those will be the most popular searches according to the keyword you entered. Most successful stores focus on a specific niche, such as dogs, cats, positive quotes, religion, and many more.

In conclusion, you will learn what Redbubble is, what it's used for, and why you shouldn't use copyrighted designs."
